The bibliography has recently been updated and divided into different
sections to support different needs.
The books about acromegaly is a list of books
currently available via amazon.
The complete
bibliography contains
all the references to date that I have entered onto my database 217
records including the majority of those with photographs.
The references are in approximately Harvard format but with some data
needing completing and additional notes reminding me of information to
add to the main text. There are also links following these references to
the following:
- [Image page] This includes all or a selection of the photographs from
the reference.
- [Reference] This is either a link to the scanned reference, actual
text or where it exists an Open URL to the original article in electronic
format.
- [Web URL] This is a link to a web based resource using the sites Unique
Resource Locator. In some instances this will only be at the top level
of the domain as deep linking is an infringement of copyright.
The subject based reference lists are there to help researchers into particular
aspects of acromegaly or gigantism e.g. Giants and Art, Palaeopathology,
Early medical descriptions etc.
As time permits I also hope to add a complete list of all references
pre-1960 on acromegaly i.e. those not available via Medline. For those
who can't wait the key bibliographic references for acromegaly pre-1960
are listed below.

Statistics
These statistics refer both to my
research in terms of the initial use of material from Ninewells Medical
School Library, Dundee University and the change in number of
references with time from Index Medicus.
