The effect of perspective |
|
|
|
|
Perspective is controlled by the position of the viewer in relation to the subject.
The
most significance difference in perspective is seen with the change in
distance from the subject but you can also change perspective by
keeping the same distance but changing the angle you view things at.

Looking
down the road or up to the top of a building things that are farther
away appear smaller. We know by experience that they are the same size
but our eyes see them as different in size.
Effect of distance on perspective
The closer you get the more distortion "exaggerated perspective"
however when you move farther away you also get perspective changes
with foreshortening or "compression" of perspective.

Perspective effects can also be seen in the use of close-ups or portraits
