This may seem a little strange but it can be useful using an anatomy textbook to feel where the various parts of the body are located. This can be done with muscles and bones even some nerves and blood vessels.

If you have ever had to take a written examination you know how annoying it is not being able to remember everything. The beauty about anatomy and human biology is that you take your own crib sheet into the exam each time, your body!

What you are doing by "Having a good feel" is looking at the "Surface Anatomy" of the body.

An easy one to try is to place your hand against the side of your face alongside your ear. Then if you open and close your mouth you can feel the movement of your jaw (temperomandibular joint) against your hand.

Similarly if you put your leg out and place your hand on your knee and bend your knee up and down you can feel your patella moving.

In this way with a human biology or anatomy textbook, in front of you, you can feel a large number of parts of the body to get an idea of where they are and what they do.
