Sports men and women are not normal

Sportsmen and women push their bodies and sportswear far beyond "normal" limits.

A sport can affect the body:

  • Canoeists and swimmers, especially for breaststroke and butterfly, tend to have large shoulders
  • Tennis players tend to have one arm more developed than the other, their dominant arm.
  • Marathon runners, mountaineers and rock climbers tend to be thin and wiry.
  • Female marathon runners have a tendency to be anorexic as it helps them cut time off their runs.

Is this normal?

"Let me have men about me that are fat . . Yon Cassius has lean and hungry look. He thinks too much Such men are dangerous." Julius Caesar - Shakespeare
