Although this CD is designed to make you aware of the various elements of what creates a capable designer it is vital that there is a market for the product; without that demand the venture will not have any commercial success, without a commercial basis it has no place in the real world.

Academic projects regularly come in for criticism as it is claimed that they create products that do not succeed in the marketplace, rather than fulfil the demands on industry. This debate is not detailed here but should always be addressed in part: it is well proven that a step back from the leading edge of the industry can allow greater comprehension of the entire project & a re-focusing of direction; the academic principles can help analyse this faster & more efficiently. The result should be a combination of various skills to make a project succeed.
