Sport Shoe sizing systems

There are number of sizing systems used worldwide. In Europe, the most common sizing systems are the English and Paris Point systems. In sport shoes sizes often more sizes systems are marked seen (inside the shoe or inside the tonque).

The systems are i.e. UK, USA, EUR (=Paris Point) and a centimetre scale . This is particularly so on sports footwear manufactured in Far East. In South-Africa and in some Eastern European countries the Mondopoint system is used.

The shoe size is the length of a last or shoe. " With the exception of the Mondopoint and Japanese centimetre scale systems, shoe size refers to the nominal length of the last which is equivalent to the inside length of the shoe (SATRA; Modern Shoemaking,No.29,Lasts. 1990)."
