Controlling body temperature

There are a number of factors which need to be considered in maintaining body temperature but they can be split into internal and external factors.

What we do affects our temperature from something as simple as eating to running on the spot The outside environment has an influence on the body's temperature i.e cold or heat.

 

In everyday life we can cope easily with conditions. it is when sportsmen and women push to the extremes that the way they use their bodies and the effect of the environment can affect the safe running of the body. We hear of cases of heat exhaustion and collapsing marathon runners.
