Two major areas to point out on sport shoe last are a toe spring and a heel
pitch. They are both pivoted from the ground to ensure a motion of rolling
and rocking of the foot in motion. In a sport shoe last the widest part
of the front area are wider than on a casual shoe last . Front cone area
or girth fit is at least one full fitting (6mm) smaller The fit of the forepart
should be so that the foot is supported without undue pressure. Also the
width of the heel is more narrow than on a casual last to sure the grip
of the heel. Back part fit should firm counter to provide stability, the
shape of back curve must not push the foot forward at the topline. Length
of the shoe is 4 mm shorter. The mechanism of any hinge are not needed on
a front cone area, facing area, because of a deep lacing mechanism.
